While this is titled "Valley City" it is a place for Morterud, Mortrud and Mortrude families and their relatives to find and exchange information.

This site is here particularly because Clara Augusta Mortrude was born and raised in Valley City and she really loved it.

In the first 9 months of 1999 I was contacted by 3 of Clara's cousins who have expanded our knowledge of the family by dozens of ancestors and hundreds of cousins. The trail goes through Barron and Vernon Counties in Wisconsin and on to Lillehammer and Land in Norway.
